PostSubject: The Real Avatars   Mon Jul 27, 2009 1:11 pm

I while back I was discussing with my friend and former teacher Thorn about Avatars. I was half-inspired to inquire about 'Avatars' due to inspiration from the T.V. series "Avatar: The Last Airbender". I was curious as to what it would take to become a real one. Thorn then proceeded to investigate the Akashic Records (The Great Library, etc) for more info. The conversation was unfortunately texted back and forth and I stupidly forgot to save them so my apologies for not being able to give you more than what I have. This is at least a snippet of what he brought back however and I'll be paraphrasing:

Avatars essentially eat, sleep, breath, think and just about everything else for their gods. Everything they do is for their gods. An Avatar is someone who on the occasion can also experience temporary possession by their God(s) essentially they are a conduit for divine energy/power. They aren't a God themselves they are a being who in a way is like a representative for their God(s) and can exercise their abitilies as needed (I can only surmise).

That's the information I have on them thus far. Anyone else have information they'd like to share on the topic or speculations?

As do I. There is still so very little we know about Avatars. I suppose understanding their purpose would be nice to know and would definitely help expand on the topic.

:3nod: mostly i feel that in this case it realy matters what your exact meaning of an Avatar is, because i have hear dof them meaning a mortal body for a god, or as an intelligant incarnation of some concept, or a servant to a god/demi-god/demon even.

I have often heard something similar but I also feel it is possible for the Avatar to be consciously aware of what the goals, wants, and desires are of their god. The best kind of Avatar is one that walks along side you in a path they choose willingly, least I would believe that would be best because when you have human spirit backed up with free-will the drive of possibilities are endless and enduring.
