The Council of Twelve Empty
PostSubject: The Council of Twelve   The Council of Twelve EmptyThu Apr 23, 2009 2:17 am

For anyone who hasn't read my grimoire "Tales of a wanderer" I mentioned a council that might be after. Another name that has come to me a couple of times called them The Council of Twelve. My thoughts always kind of described them as like leaders of all races or high beings. Well, finally went and googled it the only site that found some form of mention of this Council of Twelve was http://www.melora.org/12counc.html. most others I found mention that they are some form of ambassadors for the 12. Any thoughts to add to that or another possibility for this "Council" or "Council of Twelve?"

i had heard of a council of Elder Gods or somesuch... as well as the fact that 12 was the traditional number of gods in any official pantheon based off of the sacred number 60....

You sure it was 12? And not 13? Just asking out of curiosity.

I don't believe that's entirely true for every pantheon. One of the sacred numbers to the Druids was the number 13 and in another life I lived there was a council of 13 as a means to have a tie-breaker, among other reasons, for disputes and such.

i said "in any officia pantheon base around the sacred number 60". this means mainly those which originated from the Indus Valley, such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, etcetera. such as had come from earliest Paganism. the Celtic traditions came afterwards, so their traditions would have evolved further.
