PostSubject: Wait...I'm Confused! Why Are You Here Again?!   Tue Apr 15, 2008 9:04 pm

Lately I've noticed an interesting trend in the sites, forums, and guilds I am a part of. Every member that joins these sorts of "establishments" I don't expect to agree or believe the same thing as me, but it's these forums, sites, guilds, etc that bring people to together with similar interests and/or beliefs. However I have noticed more and more that people who might believe their soul is 'Otherkin' will say things like...
example:
Kasperceus of Otherkin wrote:
I'm still struggeling with this.
I haven't seen physical proof that other beings than humans exist, thus a part of me still remains skeptical.

Maybe some of you can help?

This was most likely in regards to me saying I wouldn't mind meeting 'Ancients' in a topic I posted in their 'Seeking Pen Pals & Companionship' section ('Ancients' referring to Vampires still existent on our plain/plane just in the shadows lurking, waiting, hiding). But this person openly believes they are Otherkin (least they indicated that in their information) and yet they find this hard to believe?

I've also seen similar in one of the Gaiaonline guilds I am in. In one of the 'Druid' oriented forums a member openly stated, "I don't believe in magic," to which I am screaming in my head at the top of my mental lungs, "Then why the hell are you here"?!

It just seems like some people need to reassess their mental state/more soul-searching or something. I'm not trying to imply those with curious minds shouldn't ask these sorts of questions or make these sorts of statements, but I feel it's best to be decisive about what you think/believe and not be a physical represenation of an oxymoron at the same time. If that makes any sense...

i always struggle to prove what i am. in times of crysis or the like, i donot stuggle, and simply am, however after that its still hard for me to come to terms exactly. its actualy quite a bite to take on each person depending on upbrining and the like.

i donot struggle withs others saying if tehy are, i nod and ask them stuff about it at times, when i am curious, but it is always me, myself, that i must makesure i am. i wouldnt want to be proven false, so i strive to prove it.

im not sure how this is relelvent, but thats my thoughts at the moment

edit: because so far, i cant just go 'oh look a memory from the past', 'that was a nice dream i had, wish i was like that again' or even feel. every thing i have done can be coincidence, but the exactly string of coincidences around me that happen are astronomical... so that itself gives me pause.... ironicly i was speaking to my bonded on near this same subject earlier... and several times in over this year

I dont know why they seem to do that.
If you know who and what you are, you should never doubt it, unless the ways that you came upon that decision were not the right way
I only doubted myself once, and I long since proved it to myself, or the more proper words are that it was proven to me by other means.
Though I did not need that proof for my doubt was little if any

I stopped believing in coincidences a long time ago when I realized everything we do, every action we take, everything we say, there is a rhyme or reason for. If we don't see it in the beginning we will eventually down the road.

*Nods* I agree. If you've done your times worth of "soul-searching" as everyone should when feeling out new lifetimes that have been discovered and the like, then once you are fairly sure and firm about your belief, nothing should rattle the foundation you have built. I've doubted what I have been/I am many times before and that denial always lead to, "Oh...I guess my heart, mind, and soul were right...I should have listened, but I wanted to be certain and now I am". That's relatively how I ended up on the path I am on now. I knew in my heart the Lord and Lady wouldn't fail me.

aye, i know, its jsut i sometimes think that my actions are for anothers benefit and not of my own.

on the other part you say, i tend to be right on alot of things i didnt know, i donot know why this should be/feel any different, but this is more of a lifestyle (ok that sounds bad, but lack of a better word) then me jsut saying im right on something.

and on a side note, another event happened, jsut a min ago, but it cant be chance, so i am sated. i just continuously try to prove myself to myself... if i cant, then i guess im not what i thought, but i havent had any misteps so far (just my cursed mind), so im good ^.^

edit: striek that up to two major coincidences that arent coincidences... i lvoe omens.... and almonds

for me it was more like trying to be something I am not, which is human without truely realizing. Like I didnt want to turn around look in the mirror and accept what I saw, but I have long since gotten over that. And I mean "Long since" in very long term by human year standerds
every now and then I did doubt, but Its hard for me to tell if it was me doubting im human or vise versa, which either way I guess doesnt matter.
but it doesnt take very much convincing when you are ... "Forced" to acknowledge it lol

and nataku what does omens have to do with almonds?
two totaly different things

I think everyone has doubts about themselves when they are basically going against what the entire 'rational' world believes, I know I still have trouble with it from time to time, for various reasons. But to go on a forum based on magick and to say,' I don't believe in it' I agree, what are you doing there?
I think that clarification is needed with those kind of statements because if they had said "I don' believe in magick but have been intrested for years, what are some good resources?" no one would have blinked an eye.

How many of us haven't dealt with that battle? I seem to be still struggling against that current sometimes, but I know the way I travel helps.

Definitely if they had stated something of the nature that they were interested in learning more, that makes sense, but just making a statement like that causes for some pause.
